This place has tasty egg tarts and makes amazing custom cakes (without fondant, which I truly appreciate)! Their cake is light, fluffy, and pretty to look at. The icing is to die for. As someone who can't eat overly sweet things at all, this would be my top spot to get a dessert that isn't overwhelming for my taste buds. You can order ahead if you want them to decorate a cake in a certain way, or just drop by the shop during business hours to choose from their premade selection. Either way, it's a lovely mom and pop shop that won't disappoint kids and adults alike.

Ordered their hazelnut coffee cake and was pleasantly surprised! Called ahead and they had a cake ready for me. Cake was soft, light, and not overly dense at all. There was toffee like interior and the coffee flavor really came through. Would come back and try their mango cake!!

I grew up coming to this plaza as a kid while my mom shopped at 99 Ranch but she never really went here so I discovered it later as an adult. I've bought cakes, mooncakes, and an assortment of pastries from here but I think their shining star is their egg tarts! I discovered from my friend that her go to egg tart in the area was this little bakery. The egg tarts are filled and the crust is super flaky! They keep them warm in a heated container so it feels fresh when you get it. My work had an event the other day and I took the risk of ordering egg tarts and pineapple buns to change up our usuals of donuts/bundt cakes/cookies. Everyone loved the egg tarts and the pineapple buns I picked up and they all were asking me where I got it from. I surprisingly had some leftover and dropped them off to my family and my mom raved about it asking me where I got it from. Tip: I did pre-order online the day before but I'd call to confirm your order because they were shocked when I showed up asking for my pick up order. They rushed to get my stuff ready and were nice about it but if they were out of egg tarts, because they've definitely run out by 10 AM before, I would have been out of luck.

We were in Newark when we decided to find a new bakery to try. We found Mary's Bakery and it was close to where we were and decided to try. The place is quaint, just enough space for five to eight people to crowd it but you can smell the goodness of their products. Smelled so good. The staff, maybe the owners?, was soooo friendly. Very welcoming to us noobs to their place. Ok, the food... Their bread is so soft and tender! Everything we ordered was delicious. The one pork bun we got to order was given a thumbs up by our son, a connoisseur of pork buns. Haha I did love their egg tarts, it was tasty, and had the most filling from any place Ive been to. Definitely coming back to try more!

My first visit to Mary's Bakery was in search of a snack, and the egg tarts drew me in. A beautifully round and plump egg tart with the perfect filling to crust ratio (I like more filling), not too sweet custard and a warm, flaky crust. This is one of the better egg tarts I've had. The BBQ pork pastry was alright -- pork filling was meager compared to the amount of puff pastry and filling taste was just ok. I think it was missing some deeper char siu flavor. The curry pork pastry is delicious, even if it's the same amount of puff pastry. The curry pork filling is flavored perfectly with the taste of my favorite childhood curry pastries, rich with pork, onion and black pepper. I also think the filling be more substantial though. The baked nian goh or mochi cake was excellent, not too sweet and just the right stickiness with a nice outer layer. While I've had better, this is the best Cantonese bakery that I've found so far.

Small little bakery. Pastries are very good. And big portions. Good place to go after having lunch next door and Bing's dumplings to get your sweets on. Picked up a few things (forgot most of their names , but from what I remember these are what I got) - hot dog bun - ham and cheese croissant - pork bun - egg tart - Taiwanese bread All were tasty. It's pretty comparable to 85deg bakery.
